Recommendations on Types of Water Heaters

There are three types of heaters, each with different operating mechanisms. The difference lies in the intake of air and and the escape of combustion gases.

• The atmosferic and ventilated, the air is taken directly from the place where the device is located.
• In the case of atmospheric water heaters, evacuation is carried out in a natural way, through an appropriate conduit, expelling the burnt gases.
• In ventilated models, the evacuation is facilitated by a fan placed in the exhaust conduit of the water heater.

Atmospheric:

Before choosing a water heater for your home, consider the dimensions needed for it's placement (but never in the bathroom). Heat loss in pipes is less and the water heats up faster.

Ventilated:

To correctly install an atmospheric water heater (for adequate gas removal), it requires a vertical pipe with at least 20 cm. Only then can there be a curve, followed by a further riser (at least 30º tilt never horizontal).

Watertight:

These construction restrictions often prevent the placement of the atmospheric models. Therefore, the ventilated are increasingly common.
